Solulink Issued Patent
for New Capture Nucleoside Triphosphates

Immediate Release : San Diego, California, February 9,
2004 - Solulink, Inc., inventor and developer of novel biomolecular
conjugation chemistries, today announced that the U.S.Patent
& Trademark Office has issued U.S. Patent No. 6,686,461
"Triphosphate Oligonucleotide Modification Reagents and Uses
Thereof". The patent covers composition of matter and use of
this new type of modified capture nucleoside triphosphate that
incorporates Solulink's hydrazine/carbonyl conjugation technology
for labeling cDNA and RNA from in vitro transcription
reactions. The new capture nucleoside triphosphate is much easier
to use, significantly more cost effective as it requires fewer
steps to isolate labeled nucleotide and uses 5 to 10 times less
fluorophore.
Solulink
developed the new capture nucleoside triphosphate as a way to
facilitate improved efficiencies gained using the Solulink conjugation
chemistry. These new capture triphosphates have been tested
and produced and are available for evaluation along with the
rest of Solulink's catalog of products. The patent adds to the
Solulink portfolio of conjugation technology designed to improve
the performance of arrays, research assays, diagnostics and
therapeutics. Solulink has a series of patent applications,
many with approved claims that are soon to be issued for additional
applications of its conjugation technology.
